AE Instructor - Certified Lead
As a Certified Angler Education Instructor, your expertise and enthusiasm will help introduce novices to angling and sportfishing. You will teach the fundamentals of fishing, including baiting hooks, casting lines, and how to responsibly catch and release. Additionally, you will provide education on the proper conservation and stewardship of Oregon's aquatic resources.
- Instruction: Teach and instruct people of all ages.
- Event Support: Help manage registration and check-in, and conduct event set-up and tear-down of materials and equipment.
- Driving: Pick up and transport equipment when needed.

- • Basic fishing equipment such as rods, reels, tackle, various lures, baits, and flies

Desired Skills & Knowledge
- • Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise in angling and sportfishing
- • Proper catch-and-release, landing, and harvesting methods
- • Knowledge of basic aquatic ecology and fish habitats
- • Basic angling skills, including use and care of gear, use and care of tools, and water safety awareness
- • Oregon fishing regulations, license requirements and available resources
- • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants, emphasizing safety, ethics, and responsible angling practices
Physical Demands
- • Wading in still or swift water
- • Walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and/or stooping motions for long periods of time
- • Working with materials, gear, and heavy equipment (to include lifting, bending, pushing, and/or pulling)
- • Walking on uneven, wet, muddy, and/or frozen ground
