HSE Junior Instructor

Hunter Safety Education Junior Instructors in Oregon are young volunteers (ages 14 to 20), who assist certified instructors in teaching safe and responsible hunting practices through the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (ODFW) hunter education program. Junior Instructors support classroom instruction and field activities by helping with demonstrations, assisting students, and promoting safety and ethical behavior. This role provides a valuable opportunity for youth to develop leadership, communication, and teaching skills while contributing to wildlife conservation and hunting safety education. Junior Instructors serve as role models for their peers and help create a positive learning environment, encouraging safe outdoor practices and respect for Oregon’s hunting traditions.
