HRP Adult Hunter Mentor

Teach adults essential skills and techniques for successful hunting in the state's diverse habitats. Your expertise and instruction contribute to fostering responsible and ethical hunting practices while enhancing participants' enjoyment and proficiency in hunting.

Educate participants about the characteristics, behaviors, habitats, and hunting seasons of various game species found in Oregon and share insights into effective hunting strategies and techniques specific to different species. Teach participants safe firearm handling practices, including proper firearm storage, loading, unloading, aiming, shooting, and gun maintenance. Emphasize the importance of firearm safety protocols and adherence to hunting regulations.

Contribute to building a skilled and responsible hunting community, promoting wildlife conservation, and preserving Oregon's hunting heritage. By imparting valuable skills, knowledge, and ethics to participants, you empower them to enjoy safe, rewarding, and sustainable hunting experiences in Oregon's diverse landscapes.

  • Instruction: Teach and instruct people of all ages.
  • Event Support: Help manage registration and check-in, and conduct event set-up and tear-down of materials and equipment. 
  • Driving: Pick up and transport equipment when needed.

Physical Demands

  • • Working in indoor and outdoor settings
  • • Walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and/or stooping motions for long periods of time
  • • Working with materials, gear, and heavy equipment (to include lifting, bending, pushing, and/or pulling)
  • • Walking on uneven, wet, muddy, and/or frozen ground
