AE Instructor - Certified Registration
Step into a role that combines expertise with enthusiasm to introduce novices to angling and sportfishing! As an Angler Education Instructor you will serve as a teacher to novice anglers, combining your expertise with enthusiasm to guide them through the skills involved with angling and sportfishing.
- Event Support: Help manage registration and check-in, and conduct event set-up and tear-down of materials and equipment.
- Driving: Pick up and transport equipment when needed.
Applicants are required to attend Angler Education certification training prior to volunteering at events.

Desired Skills & Knowledge
- • Proper catch-and-release, landing, and harvesting methods
- • Knowledge of basic aquatic ecology and fish habitats
- • Oregon fishing regulations, license requirements and available resources
- • Basic angling skills, including use and care of gear, use and care of tools, and water safety awareness
Physical Demands
- • Walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and/or stooping motions for long periods of time
- • Working with materials, gear, and heavy equipment (to include lifting, bending, pushing, and/or pulling)
- • Walking on uneven, wet, muddy, and/or frozen ground
- • Wading in still or swift water
