HSE Area Coordinator

As a Hunter Safety Education Area Coordinator, you will lead the management and oversight of the Hunter Education program within your region, working closely with your assistant to ensure smooth operations. You will be responsible for organizing conventional hunter safety classes and field days by recruiting and supervising instructors and guest speakers, as well as coordinating a reliable team of volunteers for classroom and field support. Your duties will include establishing and managing registration and attendee check-in processes, coordinating Facility Use Agreements, and overseeing all event logistics such as volunteer and attendee management, equipment setup, and event teardown. Following each event, you will handle critical post-event tasks including grading student exams, documenting volunteer certification training, submitting final class reports to ODFW, and approving volunteer hours. Serving as the primary point of contact for the program in your area, you will stay up to date on program policies, assist in developing an annual schedule of classes and field days, maintain equipment and inventory throughout your region, support regional activities, and represent ODFW at events like Sports Shows. Additionally, you will actively recruit and mentor new Hunter Education volunteers, guiding their development and helping them advance to higher-level roles within the program.
