Waterfowl Hunting Workshop for Adults (Central & Eastern OR)
Waterfowl hunting in Central and Eastern Oregon offers unique challenges and rewarding opportunities. Whether you're new to waterfowl hunting or looking to refine your skills, this hands-on workshop will help you gain the knowledge and confidence needed to pursue ducks on your own.
The workshop begins with a classroom session covering waterfowl hunting seasons, regulations, habitat, and an overview of duck hunting techniques. Participants will then rotate through four interactive breakout sessions:
- Finding a Place to Hunt – Learn how to locate prime waterfowl hunting areas.
- Gear and Equipment – Understand the essential gear, from decoys to waders.
- Calling Practice – Develop calling techniques to bring ducks within range.
- Shotgun Skills for Waterfowl – Practice shooting techniques specific to duck hunting.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the essential skills and confidence to head into the field and apply what they've learned. If you’re excited to learn the ins and outs of waterfowl hunting in Central and Eastern Oregon, this workshop is the perfect place to start!
There will be a mentored duck hunting opportunity offered to attendees of this workshop. The date and location of the hunt will be Nov. 21 at Summer Lake Wildlife Area. All equipment will be provided. More details to be shared after registration.
What To Bring
- Weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear
- Personal shotgun - must be unloaded and inspected before use (optional loaners will be available onsite)
