Fly-Fishing Workshop (Adults)

This workshop is designed for beginner-level adults, participants will learn all the basics of fishing tactics and techniques to break into the world of fly-fishing. ODFW partners with top notch fly-anglers to provide you with an exciting opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge necessary for fly-fishing. In addition to having access to an extremely exclusive pond for the duration of the workshop, participants will get to feel what it is like to hook and fight a fish! ODFW will supply all necessary equipment for this hands-on fishing workshop.

·        Gear selection

·        Basic fly-fishing knots

·        Reading the water

·        Wading techniques

 

·        Casting techniques

·        Match the hatch: bug and fly identification

·        Fight and land a fish

·        Proper fish handling

What To Bring

Please wear appropriate clothing for Oregon weather, including warm layers and closed-toed shoes. 

Bring your own bag lunch, snacks, and water.
